September 7, 2009 journal page

I had a GREAT time teaching at Art On A Lark yesterday!!!! It's an amazing space FILLED with not only the most amazing studio space I've seen, but also tons of fun mixed media goodies. Wonderful hostesses and amazing students. Day 2 is today and I'm looking forward to it!!!!!

One funny thing, at the hotel are staying at, Tristan and my Mom were in the pool yesterday. A little boy about the same age as Tristan got into the pool with them. Neither Tristan nor the boy said anything to each other. Before the boy left the pool, he turned to Tristan and made Star Trek's Spock "Live Long and Prosper" hand greeting. Tristan smiled and did it back to him. THAT IS IT! That's all the two kids "said" to each other. My Mom didn't understand it but Tristan did. Unspoken words. How cool was that? I'm still floored by it and crack up every time I think about it.

Someone asked what I picked up at Powells. I bought several zines and two art books-

Just For You (Designs From The Heart)

and Joanna Rubin Dranger's What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger

I also have to direct you here, to one of, if not THE coolest aprons I have ever seen.
