January 13, 2009 journal pages

One can never have too many books. *ahem* So, I was feeling better yesterday and decided to tackle a little project that I've been wanting to do for some time. We hit our regular comic book stores yesterday where I bought thick magazine bags. My plan was to take all of the books next to my bed, put them in clear plastic bags and rearrange them on my bookshelves. One of the reasons I want the books in bags is that one of my bookcases is next to the window. Living in L.A., no matter what you do, black crud always comes in and gets everywhere. Damn dirt. Damn dust. I don't want you in my books! So, I bought 2 packs of the bags (200 bags total). Unfortunately they were out of "Treasury size" bags which means that most of my books won't fit. I either need to wait and get the treasury bags or go buy the huge ziploc bags.

Long story short, who knew I had over 100 books piled next to the bed? WHO KNEW? It took a couple of hours and some help from Tristan (in desperation when it got past dinner time came the "HELP MOM!" please). Some people buy shoes. Some people go out for dinner and a movie. Some people go on vacation. We buy books.

Here are the books that I am "reading" right next to my side of the bed. I finished Doris 23 & 26 last night.
Here's the *&$%%$@ pile that I need to put away today. Some have emailed me asking where I get my news and what I listen to when I create. If you scroll down on the right hand side of this page, there is a link list called "Sampling of what I listen to/read, etc...". I hope this helps. Pretty much daily I listen to this and read this. I have been reading this blog daily for the past two weeks.

It's been too hot here lately to wear the new shoes I bought online. My feet always give shoes a beating. I hate buying new shoes and clothes, but I couldn't resist these. I thought I'd try these to wear for when I teach. They're cute and comfy. Not for long walks, but perfect for teaching a class. Plus, they make everyone smile. An added bonus is that they are handmade.
I bought this one (pink bows) and this one in my big ass feet size 10.
